General Safety Tips

• Health and Hygiene:

  • Encourage regular handwashing with soap and water.

  • Use hand sanitizer when soap is not available.

  • Teach and practice proper respiratory etiquette (covering coughs and sneezes).

  • Stay home if feeling sick to prevent spreading illness.

• Traffic and Pedestrian Safety:

  • Use designated crosswalks and obey traffic signals.

  • Walk on sidewalks and avoid walking in the street.

  • Wear bright or reflective clothing if walking or biking in low light.

  • Follow bus safety rules: wait for the bus in a safe spot, remain seated while riding, and avoid distractions.

• Cyber Safety:

  • Be cautious about sharing personal information online.

  • Use strong passwords and change them regularly.

  • Talk about safe internet and social media use.

• Emergency Preparedness:

  • Know the school’s emergency procedures (fire drills, lockdown drills, etc.).

  • Have an emergency contact list easily accessible.

  • Discuss what to do if separated from family or in an emergency.

• Bullying Prevention:

  • Encourage open communication between children and parents/teachers.

  • Teach kids to report bullying and support their peers.

  • Promote respectful and inclusive behavior.

For Parents and Guardians

• Review and update emergency contact information with the school.

• Ensure your child knows their full name, address, and phone number.

• Plan and practice the route to and from school.

• Provide your child with a charged phone (if age-appropriate) for communication.
